Terms and Conditions of booking

The following Terms and Conditions will apply if you wish to book accommodation using the Travel Scot World (the “Company”) booking form for ICSE 2004, 23-28 May 2004 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
By sending the Booking Form to the Company you agree to abide and be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Making a Booking

1.1 In order to request and/or make a booking you must fully and accurately complete all parts of the booking form set out in this website: www.travelscotworld.co.uk/icse
1.2 The Company will endeavour to offer you the accommodation you request in the booking form or offer you a similar alternative.
1.3 A payment form will be sent with the availability confirmation. The credit card details, bankers draft or cheque that are/is provided by you will be used to secure the accommodation as confirmed in by the Company.
1.4 You agree that any failure to make payment by you by any date specified in these terms and conditions may lead to the booking that has been confirmed being cancelled by the Company and any costs incurred being charged directly to you.
1.5 It is your responsibility to check the details in the confirmation that you receive from the Company and to advise them immediately if any corrections are required.
1.6 You are responsible for all payments arising from any requests made by you in the booking form and subsequently confirmed by the Company. If the booking is not cancelled you will be responsible in full subject to the clauses below.

2. Payment, Charges and Cancellation

2.1 All payments made to the Company are to be in UK Pounds Sterling. The Company will not be liable for any currency conversion charges that may occur from you making such payments and these will be chargeable to you.
2.2 Payment by you may be made by an appropriate banker’s draft, cheque or a valid credit card accepted by the Company.
2.3 You agree the Company may cash the banker’s draft, cheque or debit your credit card in order to receive full payment for any costs, charges or fees that are incurred by them due to booking the accommodation requested by you as detailed in the booking form.
2.4 The Company will not book, and they also reserve the right to cancel, the accommodation you have requested if your banker’s draft, cheque or credit card is dishonoured or declined.
2.5 In the event that your banker’s draft, cheque or credit card is dishonoured or declined you agree to be liable for any fees, charges or costs incurred by the Company.
2.6 Any cancellation or alteration to your booking by you must be notified in writing and sent by either fax or email to the Company.

2.7 In the event of cancellation by you prior to the 6th of May 2004 the Company will refund the total amount paid by you less an administration charge of £25.00. If you cancel after the 6th of May 2004 no refund will be given.

3. Accommodation

3.1 You agree that you are satisfied with the brief description and star rating of the hotels which are available for booking as detailed on this website.
3.2 You acknowledge and agree that the star rating used in different countries may not be the same as your own country of residence and you have satisfied yourself as to the facilities and standard of the accommodation which you have requested in the booking form.
3.3 You agree the Company is not liable for any disappointment, liability, cost or expense suffered by you as a result of booking the hotel from the brief description or star rating as detailed on this website.

4. General

4.1 The Company reserve the right to alter or cancel your booking at any time in the event of unforeseen reasons beyond its control and will notify you as soon as reasonably possible.
4.2 The Company will not be liable for any loss suffered by you as a result of these terms and conditions or failure to secure your booking due to circumstances beyond its control or if such failure is the fault of a third party.
4.3 Agreement to these terms and conditions is made in Scotland and is governed by Scots Law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.
